Job Description

Operations Planning Managers analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers and direct inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, or logistics quality management. The role also entails establishing or monitoring specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems, implementing specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics, and negotiating with suppliers or customers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability. Finally, Operations Planning Managers maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, or training or safety records.

$53,000 - $164,400

Education Required

  • Master's degree, MBA, or PhD preferred
  • Major coursework in Industrial, Civil, or Transportation Engineering, Urban or Transportation Planning, Business, Public Administration, or Supply Chain/Logistics
