Labor Market Analysis

NNTW performs labor market analysis to identify workforce and training needs for various transportation sectors. The NNTW team uses those findings to empower a broad coalition of stakeholder groups to design educational opportunities that are informed by data to find common cause for transportation workforce calls to action, business initiatives, and related public awareness and education campaigns.

Initially, two labor market reports were generated for each multi-state region as a way to establish a baseline for subsequent transportation-related workforce research. These “Job Needs and Priorities Reports” are now available for download.

The Southwest Transportation Workforce Center (SWTWC) has also developed a follow-up to its “Job Needs and Priorities Report” to highlight a series of workforce priorities that will address the region’s growing demand for more transportation workers. By supplementing traditional labor market data with strategic workforce research and action planning, SWTWC’s “2020 State of the Transportation and Mobility Workforce Report” shares guidance on how to move the transportation industry and its workforce into the future.
